“Workshop on International Migration and Economic Cohesion” was held by International Migration and Refugee Agency (IMRA) in İstanbul on October 21, 2019 within the scope of “First-Step Project for Syrian Refugees”.

As WALD, we participated in the workshop where “Economic Cohesion” side of the migration that brings many problems and opportunities with it was handled and opinions and solution offers of related stakeholders were discussed to share our experiences.

The journey of migration starts to arrive in cities where advanced hospitals and schools are located. Being one of the countries mostly impacted by Syrian civil war in terms of security and sociology, Turkey has totally 3 million 676 thousand Syrians that are under temporary protection status. Some of these people escaped the battle and sheltered in Turkey, an important part escaped oppression of terrorist groups in the region and took refuge in Turkey. During the program, speakers discussed thoughts about policies to be adopted on migration in future periods.
