Final Sitting of the Project “Power the Revolution for Climate Action” conducted by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality was hosted by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality and held on June 13, 2019. The session of the meeting titled “Building of Cities Resistant to Climate Change” was held under chairmanship of Mehmet Duman, WALD Chairman of the Executive Board. 

Making the opening speech of the session; Mr. Duman pointed out that the 6th Goal: “Clean Water, Hygiene and Sanitary Conditions”, the 7th Goal: “Accessible and Clean Energy” and the 12th Goal: “Responsible Production and Consumption”, which are handled in 2030 Agenda of Sustainable Development Goals, are directly related with environmental sustainability. In addition, he stated that the 13th Goal: “Climate Action”, the 14th Goal: “Life in Water” and the 15th Goal: “Terrestrial Life” stress environmental quality and resilience and highlighted that the meeting point of this ever-increasing sensitivity to environment with city is the 11th Goal: “Sustainable Cities and Living Areas”.

Mehmet Duman, WALD Chairman of the Executive Board gathered with Mayors of Municipalities and representatives of Global Climate and Energy Act and Carbon Disclosure Platform and interviewed with them for developing interinstitutional partnerships and projects to be conducted in this field.
