Music, defined as "an art form that gives a person the opportunity to express themselves through sounds," explains the foundation of the bond between humans and music. Music is universal and the only common language in the world. Singing, moving with rhythm, listening, and playing instruments enable individuals to learn musical structures, and music-related activities help improve a person's physical coordination, timing, memory, concentration, and listening skills.

Within the scope of the Social Protection Project, the relaxing and rehabilitating effects of music are utilized in activities conducted with refugees and the local community. In this direction, bendir courses for adults were organized by the Sultangazi Social Protection Desk with the objectives of enabling individuals to learn how to play a musical instrument, supporting the development of their musical skills, and contributing to their social cohesion processes. In the first week of the course, which was attended by beneficiaries aged between 15 and 35, participants were provided with information introducing the musical instrument, things to consider while playing it, and beginner-level notes.

In the course, which lasted for a total of 4 weeks, participants stated that both learning to play a new musical instrument and strengthening their ties with the community made them very happy.
