Policy Forum on Development (PFD) established by the European Commission as a consultation mechanism in which civil societies and local governments come together to shape development policies of the European Union was held in Katmandu city of Nepal on September 24 - 26, 2019.

Mehmet Duman, WALD Chairman of the Executive Board also participated in this forum. Development support programs of the EU organized in Asia and which position Asia Pacific Region has in the global development agenda were discussed after the special session during which activities conducted within the scope of 2030 Agenda of Nepal were discussed. Opinions and recommendations were also offered by the participants for implementation of Sustainable Development Goals. On the 2nd day of the meeting; representatives from Mongolia, Pakistan and Indonesia made a speech and process of Voluntary National Review (VNR) Reports and national progresses were assessed in the general sessions.
