Held by WALD traditionally in each year, iftar program was held in İstanbul Cemile Sultan Grove in this year on May 14, 2019.Mehmet Duman, Chairman of the Executive Board, Dr. Gönül Önal, Metin Karakaş, Fatih Ceylan, Prof. Dr. Kürşat Yelken as Members of Board of Trustees, representatives of international institutions, UCLG-MEWA Family and all WALD employees participated in the program.
After iftar dinner, Dr. Gönül Önal, Member of Board of Trustees made a speech and presented her thanks to all participants for their efforts towards the project. Speaking at the end of the event, Mehmet Duman, WALD Chairman of the Executive Board said: “Today, we host our Syrian friends in various districts. While working to host them in the best manner, it is also required to show a maximum effort to meet their educational needs in order to prevent them from being detached from life and cause to a lost generation”. After the speech, our team members shared their feelings and thoughts and stated that the mental tranquility of helping people is priceless.
