The Gaziosmanpaşa Social Protection Desk, in cooperation with the Turkish Family Planning Association (TAPV) and the Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality Directorate of Social Services (DSS), organized an information session on reproductive health with the participation of women from refugee and local communities.
The purpose of the program, held at the Gaziosmanpaşa Cultural Center, is to contribute to raising awareness, particularly among refugee women, regarding women's health issues and preventive interventions. Organized under the guidance of WALD expert psychologists and TAPV experts, the seminar provided women with information on specific women's health issues such as sexually transmitted infections, breast cancer, cervical cancer, and menopause. Continuing interactively with the questions and sharing of the participants, the seminar is set to continue in subsequent sessions with topics such as Reproductive Organs and Pregnancy, Hygiene and Nutrition, Safe Motherhood, Contraceptive Methods, and Sex Education.
At the end of the seminar, the participating women were invited to a focus group meeting held at the Gaziosmanpaşa Social Protection Desk. The participants expressed their gratitude, stating that such seminars contribute to increasing their awareness.
