4th World Cities Congress was held in İstanbul Yenikapı Eurasia Culture and Art Center on March 13-15, 2019. Hosted by İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the congress brought more than 140 speakers from 12 countries and 120 cities under 9 sessions and constituted a platform where various technological progresses on disaster, health, security, agriculture and energy were exhibited. The congress started with the opening session accompanied by Mayorship of İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality and T.R. Ministry of Industry and Technology.

On the second day of the congress, Mehmet Duman, WALD Chairman of the Executive Board moderated a session titled “Sustainability in Smart Cities”.  At the beginning of the session, Mr. Duman emphasized that it has become mandatory to produce technology-based solutions on accessible urban transportation and waste management and they strive to hand the cities down to the next generations in the best form.

Sessions on Energy, Data and Entrepreneurship were organized and Award Ceremony for Competition on Ideas and Projects for Smart City was completed on the third and last day of the congress.
