WALD Awareness Seminars on International Women's Day

WALD organized awareness seminars for local and groups of refugee women on March 8, International Women's Day.

Kâğıthane, Sultangazi and Gaziosmanpaşa Social Protection Desks and Avcılar, Beylikdüzü, Bağcılar and Küçükçekmece Social Protection Desks held events on March 8, 2021. Maltepe, Pendik, Sancaktepe and Ümraniye Social Protection Desks took place events on March 9, 2021. In the activities organized by WALD Social Protection Desks, the importance of International Women's Day was discussed. After that, the issues of women's access to rights, ways of combating violence, and women's empowerment were discussed. Women were informed about Law No. 6284 on "Protect Family and Prevent Violence against Woman". Besides, KADES, the Women's Support Application, which is an official application offered to users to prevent the violence and abuse that women and children are exposed to, was also introduced to the participating women. How to use KADES, which is an emergency response application prepared by the Turkish National Police, was also discussed in detail.
