Visit to the Consulate General of Palestine in Istanbul
On Jan. 23, Dr. Mehmet DUMAN, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the World Academy for Local Government and Democracy Foundation (WALD), and the accompanying delegation paid a courtesy visit to Hanaa ABURAMADAN, Consul General of Palestine.
During the bilateral meeting, they discussed the recent developments in Gaza and assessed Israel's actions against the civilian population and its policies in the Palestinian territories. Dr. DUMAN also shared information about the projects undertaken by WALD with the Consul General. Within the framework of these projects, Dr. DUMAN briefed the Consul General on scholarships provided to Palestinian university students studying in Türkiye and sought support for these students to benefit from the scholarships. The visit also involved discussions on international efforts to support and show solidarity against all civilian casualties in Palestine, exploring potential collaborations for the betterment of the region's people.
Consul General ABURAMADAN expressed gratitude to Dr. DUMAN for the thoughtful visit and presented a painting featuring a map of Palestine as a token of remembrance for the day.
