TRAINING ON COMBATING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN HELD

WALD continues its work on the prevention of violence against women and the empowerment of women within the framework of strong cooperation with local governments. In line with this purpose, within the scope of "November 25 Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women", the training, which deals with the protection institutions and protection measures that women who are victims of violence and at risk of experiencing can apply, were held on 16 November 2021 at the Maltepe Municipality Başıbüyük Social Life and Women's Solidarity Center.

During the training, Psychologist Büke OKYAY made a presentation titled “The Concept of Violence Against Women Under Law No. 6284”. After the presentation, WALD Social Protection Lawyer Furkan BEDER briefed the participants on legal regulations, violence against women, sexual violence, economic violence, and psychological violence. “Women Support Application (KADES)” implemented by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Interior, 112 Emergency Call Center, 183 Ministry of Family and Social Policies, and 155 Police Helplines were shared; Information was given about the application procedure to the District Governor's Office, the Governor's Office, the Prosecutor's Office, and the Family Court.
