Training for People with Special Needs and Gender-Based Violence

Organized by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the "Identification of Persons with Special Needs, Gender-Based Violence and GBV policy training was held in Ankara on 15-16 June 2023.

In the program attended by representatives of many institutions operating in the field of social cohesion and humanitarian aid, together with the World Academy of Local Government and Democracy (WALD), UNHCR's approach to protection and policies including case management, cash-based assistance and overall referral mechanism, risk reduction and response was discussed for two days.

At the same time, case studies were conducted by discussing in detail individuals with special needs, basic concepts of gender and GBV, sexual exploitation and prevention of abuse. After two intense days, the program ended with the presentation of certificates to the participants.
