Third Meeting of the Global Taskforce on Migration

The Third Meeting of the Global Task Force on Migration gathered on 11 May 2021, under the theme Migrants’ & Refugees’ access to labor markets: towards equality for workers.” At the third meeting of GTFM, where WALD is among the founding partners, participants discussed the following topics; the importance of decent job opportunities in the social inclusion of migrants and refugees, reducing the risk of migrant workers’ exploitation, the role of local partnerships with the private sector for employment, and maximizing the contribution of refugees and migrants to the local economies.

In the meeting, the session titled “Reducing the Risk of Migrant Workers’ Exploitation and Promoting Access to Grievance Mechanisms” is moderated by Barış TİMUR, WALD Reporting Specialist. The session hosted Fulya Memişoğlu, Academic at Yıldız Technical University; Goshab Mozaffari, Secretary-General of Asian Mayors; and Susanne Klink, Livelihoods and Socio-Economic Inclusion lead for UNHCR’s Regional Bureau for Europe.
