Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8; "Decent Work and Economic Growth" includes continuous, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and support of decent work for all people. A decent work for all means job opportunities where everyone is productive, receives a fair wage, works at a secure place, has social protection opportunities for their families, and people expect more personal development and social integration. Today, sustainable economic growth encourages higher productivity levels and technological innovation. We can see the promotion of entrepreneurship and job opportunities as the key to this. Keeping these goals in mind the aim is to ensure full and productive employment and decent work opportunities by 2030.

Based on these considerations; As the World Academy for Local Government and Democracy (WALD) Istanbul Academy, in cooperation with Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and with the understanding of "New City Economy Model", “S.S Snowflakes Women's Initiative Production and Management Cooperative” which supports women's employment and entrepreneurship and whose foundation was laid in 2019, was established on 16 February 2022. In this project, which we believe will contribute to the development of the culture of living together, Turkish and refugee women living in Gaziosmanpaşa will both reveal their productive identities and contribute to their household economy. In order for the products planned to be produced within the Snowflakes Women's Initiative Production and Management Cooperative to comply with the "Turkish Food Codex Standards Regulation", for each product; nutritional value, shelf life, microbiological and chemical analyses were initiated. As a result of these analyses, the products to be produced will be hygienic, organic, additive-free and comply with the Turkish Food Codex Standards.
