Short Film Event with Children

The World Academy for Local Government and Democracy (WALD) organized a "Short Film Event" within the context of the Social Protection Project. The short film event, which was held online on 8 July 2021 with the participation of 17 children from four social protection desks of the Anatolian Side, aimed to strengthen children's social relations and provide a platform to share their ideas.

The event started with Can Yılmaz’s, WALD Team Leader, brief on the Social Protection Project. Furkan Beder, WALD Lawyer, shared the theme of the films with the children. Three short animations titled “Allocating Time for Others”, “A Story of Joy” and “On Prejudice and Carelessness” were watched and the children discussed the theme, characters, music, and colors of each story. It was noteworthy that children's ability to express themselves and their inferences from animations were sound and solid.

At the end of the event, the children expressed that they wanted these kinds of activities to continue, that they wanted to come together again in the activities on painting and games, and expressed their thanks.
