Promising Events Held While Celebrating World Environment Day!
As WALD, within the scope of 5 June World Environment Day activities, at the Social Protection Desk we serve in Küçükçekmece an event was held to raise awareness of nature and the environment, and to discuss the issues caused by the environment, environmental pollution and recycling. In this event, where the participants are children between the ages of 10-12, an interactive environment was created with interactive games, discussions and informative presentations to understand the importance of nature, the harms of environmental pollution and the importance of recycling.
In the program; the importance of approaching the ecosystem with a new perspective and understanding was underlined, the effects of many factors on environmental pollution, such as unplanned population growth and related infrastructure deficiencies, rural to urban migrations, unconscious agricultural practices, and increase in energy consumption per capita, as a result of the increase in human industrial needs, were discussed.
In addition to raising awareness of the participants on environmental issues, this event contributed to finding solutions to environmental problems by acting consciously and taking individual and collective responsibility for a sustainable future.
