Learning with Fun at April 23

April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day has been celebrated by WALD & UNHCR Social Protection Desks. A short video was produced with the participation of 16 children from refugee and the local communities within the scope of April 23 preparations. In the video with the concept of “I dream of a World”, children told about their future jobs and how they will transform the world with these jobs. The video has been shared through WALD social media channels. The synergy created by coming together of children from the refugee and the local communities gave a different dimension to the importance of the day.

The second event was a knowledge contest. The contest conducted on April 27, 2021 and named as "We Learn while having Fun". The event started with the introductory presentation of the project team leaders explaining the meaning and importance of the day. The children from 11 districts, where the Social Protection Desks are placed in the scope of WALD & UNCHR project, were asked some predictive-questions. The children learned by having fun with the predictive answers given to the questions by themselves. In the interactive event,  children also told their views about 20 November Children's Rights Day, which will be celebrated in the upcoming period. The event also created a fruitful platform for children to strengthen their communication with each other, express themselves better and socialize.
