Istanbul Declaration Workshop was Held

Inter-municipal Coordination Platform Istanbul Declaration Workshop in the Field of Refugees was held online on August 25, 2021, in partnership with the World Academy for Local Government Democracy (WALD), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). In the workshop where the opening speech was delivered by WALD Academy Director Hülya ALPER, UNHCR Istanbul Field Office Officer Elif Selen AY, and IMM Social Services Department Head Yavuz SALTIK.

 

In the workshop, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality, Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality; Bilecik, Canakkale, Edirne, Yalova, Arnavutkoy, Avcilar, Ayvacik, Bagcilar, Beylikdüzü, Darica, Esenyurt, Fatih, Gaziosmanpasa, Gebze, Kagithane, Karesi, Kucukcekmece, Maltepe, Nilufer, Pendik, Sancaktepe, Sultanbeyli, Sultangazi, Sisli, Umraniye, Yıldırım, Zeytinburnu and Gölcük Municipalities shared their views on the importance of the Istanbul Declaration and the text of the declaration.

 

In the second session of the workshop, revisions and feedbacks of the representatives of the institutions on the declaration articles were discussed. In the third session, all declaration articles were read one by one, and final arrangements were made with a common consensus on all articles.
