Emergency Aid Action Plan Meeting

Two separate earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 and 7.6 that occurred on February 6, 2023, in the Pazarcık and Elbistan districts of Kahramanmaraş caused the death and injury of many citizens in 11 provinces.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) held an online meeting on February 27, 2023, to create an “Emergency Action Plan” to assist earthquake victims affected by earthquakes and in need of special assistance. At the meeting where the details of the Special Needs Fund were shared and all project partners attended, an emergency action plan was created by determining what the needs were.

As a result of this meeting; as WALD, it has been decided to expand and continue the aid for the earthquake victims who came to Istanbul, based on the urgent basic needs (food, hygiene, shelter, transportation, clothing, psychosocial support, etc.) that started from the first day of the earthquake.
