Children Dream of a Better Future…
“World Children's Rights Day”, celebrated every year on November 20, aims to raise awareness and provide necessary assistance to millions of children whose rights in the fields of health, nutrition, education and protection are not being implemented.As World Academy for Local Government and Democracy (WALD), activities were organized this year, as every year by aiming to raise children who know their rights, are not exposed to repression and violence, as part of “World Child Rights Week” with the children between 14-18 November.
Childhood, which is the basis of human life, is the period in which physical and cognitive development have not yet been completed, therefore, protection and love are most needed. In this respect, it is necessary to emphasize and repeat the basic rights and freedoms of adults when it comes to children, and to establish new rights that are suitable for the special needs of children. Making the children aware of their rights and the way they can exercise these rights, play an important role in growing up as healthy individuals and in making the society they live in healthy. Every child needs to develop a sense of trust, to be respected and loved, to express himself, to be protected and to know all his rights.
Among the activities organized;
* In the "Park Of Istanbul Animal Rehabilitation Center", animals from different geographies and limited by natural obstacles and children were brought together for the development and happiness of children.
*Children watched the “A Don Quixote Adventure Theater” which contributed to raising their awareness of their rights and a love of theater was instilled in them.
* With the "Emaar Aquarium Tour", children were given the opportunity to get to know many sea and land creatures.
