The Values That Make Us WALD

To build a meeting ground where municipality administrators, urban authorities and social scientists who are engaged in developing theoretical models and implementation strategies come together to establish a responsible decisive local governance across the world and to bring new concepts and perspectives forward through various forums (conferences, seminars, training programs, research projects, publication series) organized by WALD.

To help democracy to be deeply understood among local governments; to contribute to local governments to institutionalize democratic and participative methods and processes and find alternative and functional ways and instruments for development and settlement of human rights; and to encourage cooperation, opinion exchange and experience sharing between local governments and non-governmental organizations.

WALD aims to build a forum on which theory and practice are brought together under a single roof, exchange of opinions and experiences is enabled and conditions are discussed and announced to the public in order to share goals of democracy and human rights and create an efficient local government.
