WORKSHOP ON ERASMUS+ 35TH ANNİVERSARY CALL FOR CENTRAL PROJECTS AND OPPORTUNİTİES FOR TURKEY

As World Academy for Local Government and Democracy, on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Erasmus+ Project, we participated to the international workshop hosted by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and organized by Turkish National Agency online on 1 April 2022.

During the workshop in which Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director of EU Affairs Ambassador Faruk KAYMAKCI,  Head of Turkish National Agency İlker ASTARCI, Head of the EU Delegation to Turkey Nikolaus MEYER-LANDRUT and Director General for Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation of Directorate for EU Affairs Bülent ÖZCAN took part, it was emphasized that as an acceding country increasing Turkey’s participation to central projects becomes a prominent issue.

The workshop was made up of 4 panels which are as follows: “Erasmus+ Central Partnerships for Vocational Education and Business Skills”, “Erasmus+ Central Projects in the Field of Higher Education”, “Erasmus+ Central Projects in the Field of Education” and “Erasmus+ Central Projects in the Field of Youth & 2022 European Year of Youth”.

During the workshop since digital transition, green deal and democratic participation are the main pillars of the EU agenda, it is underscored that projects should revolve around these themes. After the question and answer session, Directorate of EU Affairs, Head of Department of Union Programmes and Cross Border Cooperation Dr. Şebnem SÖZER ended the workshop by summarizing important points.
