WALD PARTICIPATED IN THE ISTANBUL ACTION PLAN WORKSHOP ON COMBATING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN 

Within the framework of the fourth national action plan to combat violence against women, in cooperation with the Regional Directorate for Family and Social Services and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCR) and in our capacity as the World Academy of Local Governance and Democracy (WALD), we participated in convening a workshop of the regional action plan on combating violence against women.

Within the scope of the 4th National Action Plan for Combating Violence Against Women, the Istanbul Action Plan Workshop on Combating Violence Against Women was held on 19-20 January 2022 with the participation of members of the judiciary, relevant public institutions and organizations, non-governmental organizations, academics, international organizations and WALD. 

In the workshop, it was aimed to implement the legislation effectively and to facilitate victims' access to justice, to integrate zero tolerance to violence in all plans, programs and policies, to develop institutional capacity for effective provision of protective and preventive services, and to increase social awareness and sensitivity for the total fight against violence. 

In the Action Plan for Combating Violence Against Women for the year 2022-2025, which was held in four sessions with intense participation, Access to Justice and Legislation, Policy and Coordination, Protective Preventive Services, Social Awareness, Refugees were discussed.  The two-day workshop concluded with the presentation and reporting of the evaluations.
