WALD Chairman of Executive Board Came Together With Mayor of Sultangazi Municipality

WALD Chairman of the Executive Board Mehmet Duman paid a visit to the Mayor of Sultangazi Municipality Att. Abdurrahman Dursun in his office on September 22, 2020. 

Deputy Mayor of Sultangazi Municipality Nurcan Öztürkmen and Sultangazi Municipality Directorate of Cultural and Social Affairs Chief Murat Yıldırım also attended the meeting. Parties assessed the activities carried out with refugees and local people of the Sultangazi within the scope of Social Protection Project. Executed by WALD in cooperation with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and Sultangazi Municipality, “Supporting Innovative and Entrepreneur Women” project were thoroughly evaluated. In this project, local women and refugee women will make production together in the same workshops and support each other in the sale of products. 

WALD Chairman of the Executive Board Mehmet Duman stated that women participation in economic and social life and women empowerment were very essential for the community, and they carried out all activities with this notion. Att. Abdurrahman Dursun, on the other hand, expressed that the activities conducted in cooperation with WALD under Social Protection Project were very valuable in terms of ensuring social cohesion and social peace in the district, and as Sultangazi Municipality, they would continue to support all activities.
