Visits For New Period Cooperations

Dr. Mehmet DUMAN, Chairman of the Executive Board of the World Academy for Local Government and Democracy (WALD), paid a visit to the Mayor of Güngören, Dr. Architect Bünyamin DEMİR. Dr. DUMAN provided information about WALD’s activities, national and international projects in his visit, and also he underlined the importance of cooperation with local governments in all social benefit-based works, and underlined the importance of pluralist democracy and participation in terms of the efficiency of the work.

Mayor of Güngören, Architect Dr. Demir, expressed his pleasure with the visit and stated that they wish to be together with WALD in new works by strengthening their bilateral cooperation in the following processes. WALD Chairman of the Executive Board Dr. DUMAN thanked Dr. DEMİR for its kind hosting and presented the "A Life Dedicated to Istanbul: Kadir Topbaş Memoir Book" published by WALD publishing house, which serves as a guide in the field of local governments.

WALD Chairman of the Executive Board of Dr. DUMAN visited Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) Deputy Secretary General Mr. Özcan TOKEL on 13 December 2022. DUMAN wished success for the new period works after the ITO elections and conveyed his best wishes. ITO Deputy Secretary General TOKEL thanked Dr. DUMAN for his kind visit and stated that they would be pleased to be together in national and international projects by strengthening their cooperation with WALD in this new period.

 Dr. DUMAN's next visit was to Assoc. Prof. İsmail Numan TELCI, Vice President of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies (ORSAM). During the visit that took place on 14 December 2022, they consulted on the development of national and international projects in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
