Turkish Red Crescent Champions Employment Project ISDEP

The introductory meeting for the “Supporting Transition to the Labor Market Project (ISDEP)” was convened in Istanbul on Sept. 19, hosted by the Turkish Red Crescent. Various institutions and organizations specializing in social cohesion and humanitarian aid were in attendance, alongside the World Academy of Local Government and Democracy Foundation (WALD).

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the ISDEP project is a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the Turkish Employment Agency (Işkur), the Turkish Red Crescent, and the World Bank (WB). The project's beneficiaries encompass Turkish citizens, as well as those under Temporary Protection, International Protection, or International Protection Applicant status.

Furthermore, it was announced that the project will run from 2022 to 2025, focusing on provinces including Istanbul, northwestern Bursa and Kocaeli, western Izmir, central Konya, southern Adana, southeastern Gaziantep, and Şanlıurfa. The meeting provided a comprehensive overview of the project's details and shared insights into its operational processes before concluding with a question-and-answer session.

The ISDEP project aims to enhance the institutional capacities of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, Işkur, and the Turkish Red Crescent. Its primary objectives are to bolster the employability of both Turkish citizens and foreign individuals with Temporary Protection, International Protection, or International Protection Applicant status and to facilitate their access to the labor market.
