The 4th Anatolian Side Public & Non-Governmental Organizations Coordination

The 4th Anatolian Side Public & Non-Governmental Organizations Coordination Meeting was held under the leadership of the Red Crescent Community Center on 26th of August, 2021. It was moderated with the contribution of International Blue Crescent Association, Refugees Association and the World Academy for Local Government and Democracy (WALD). The meeting was held with the participation of 27 institutions. In the Coordination Meeting started with the opening speech of, Turkish Red Crescent Community Center Manager Mr.  Oğuzhan Mehmet Bostancı. Many NGOs and official institutions working in the field of migration shared their experiences during 3 sessions on different themes. WALD Academy Director, Ms. Hülya Alper shared her observations and experience about the most common problems in the field of refugees.

In the first session of the meeting, information was exchanged on the schooling of immigrants and refugees. The second session started with the remark that establishing a common data system in order to establish correct communication and coordination system is a solution for the general awareness of the services offered locally or in the districts as NGOs working in the field of refugees. In the third session, the actions that can be taken to create a positive language towards refugees and immigrants in the press and media was discussed. At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to establish a communication channel under the coordination of the Red Crescent Community Center with the participating institutions.
