Session on Marriage, Identity Register and Divorce for Refugees
The session with the title of “Turkish Civil Code and Law on Foreigners and International Protection” was held on 27 March 2021 in cooperation with WALD, Pendik District Governorship and Pendik Municipality. Marriages of foreigners, identity registers, and divorces were handled in line with the Marriage Regulations, the law no. 4721 Turkish Civil Code and Law on Foreigners and International Protection.
As the first speaker, WALD Anatolian Side Team Leader Psychologist Can Yılmaz gave information about the Social Protection Project funded by the United Nations Refugee Organization (UNHCR). It continued with the presentation titled "Marriage Under Civil Code, Registration and Divorce". Atty. Furkan Beder gave information for refugees within the scope of legal legislation. After the WALD’s presentations, “Social Cohesion and Life Education” presentation was made by a Pendik Public Education Centre Trainer. At the end of the session, questions about the problems faced by the refugees in the issues of marriage, registration, divorce and related official processes were answered.
