REPRESENTATIVES FROM WALD, UNHCR and SVERİGE FÖR UNHCR VISITED KÜÇÜKÇEKMECE MUNICIPALITY

Believing in the importance of close cooperation with relevant stakeholders in a correct and planned migration governance, WALD continued its meetings with institutions and organizations within the scope of national and international partnerships. In this context, a partnership and evaluation meeting was held with Sverige för UNHCR representatives on October 26, 2021.

 

The meeting was hosted by Küçükçekmece Municipality; Representatives from UNHCR Ankara Office and Küçükçekmece Municipality participated. The “Social Protection, Social Cohesion and Access to Livelihoods Project” carried out in 11 districts of Istanbul with the cooperation of WALD and UNHCR was introduced. Within the scope of this project, the figures regarding the services offered since 2017 were shared. In particular, how sensitive case processes are carried out and the services provided were discussed. The current situation of regional migration and social cohesion in Turkey, the difficulties encountered and solution proposals were discussed with the representatives of Sverige för UNHCR at the meeting, where the work carried out in the Küçükçekmece district was also mentioned.
