No to Child Labor
World Academy of Local Government and Democracy (WALD) organized a social cohesion event for children with the title "I am a child, I exist with my rights". The event is organized within the context of the International Day of Elimination of Child Labour on 12 June.
In the event, the importance of combating child labor was shared with children in a video and presentation conducted online on 11 June 2021. A total of 19 child beneficiaries from four districts where the WALD Social Protection Desk operate participated in the work. In the event, the work of the Social Protection Project was explained and summarized by Lawyer Esra Kuğu, and the employees working at the Ümraniye and Sancaktape Social Protection Desks participating in the training were introduced. In the event, which continued with the presentation titled “12 June Day for the Elimination of Child Labour” and “I am a child with my rights” by Lawyer Kuğu, a video prepared by the Provincial Immigration Administration was shown to the participating children. In the event, the right to education, the right to health, the right to play, the right to participate in artistic and cultural activities were explained and the emphasis on equality in children's rights was underlined.
At the end of the activity, children learned about their rights while they were drawing pictures of their profession for the future.
