Localization of SDGs and Inter-City Cooperation Program Organized to Improve Regional Planning

The "Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Localization and Inter-City Cooperation Program to Improve Regional Planning" was held in Amman, the capital of Jordan, between 25-27 July 2023 with a great success. WALD Chairman of the Board Dr. Mehmet DUMAN attended and gave a speech on inter-city cooperation in the localization of SDGs.

Dr. DUMAN emphasized in his speech that inter-city cooperation plays a critical role in promoting sustainable development and local innovation, and thus offers new opportunities to reach SDGs. He noted that strengthening ties between cities allows cities to share their experiences by encouraging the vital processes of local initiatives. Stating that the Middle East and West Asia regions are rich in economic and cultural diversity and that sustainable development efforts present a complex structure, Dr. DUMAN emphasized that the localization of SDGs can help improve cooperation between cities in the region.

In this way, a sustainable future will be created in the region by sharing information between cities and using resources correctly. The cooperation of local governments and non-governmental organizations is of great importance for a sustainable future.
