Establishment of "Sultan Women's Initiative Production and Business Cooperative"

In order to support women's employment and initiative, the Sultan Women's Initiative Production and Business Cooperative, which has been working since 2019 in cooperation with the World Academy for Local Government and Democracy (WALD), Sultangazi Municipality and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), was officially established on 16 August 2022.Our Cooperative, which we have established within the framework of the New Urban Economy Model, aims to create a meaningful, equitable and sustainable economy model for women.

As WALD, we aim to minimize the problems that foreigners living in our country may experience due to differences in language, culture and lifestyles, and to facilitate the adaptation processes at the point of social peace, within the framework of the Social Protection, Social Cohesion and Access to Livelihoods Project, which we have carried out in cooperation with UNHCR and local governments. In addition to all this, we continue our efforts to provide secure and permanent working conditions in the labor market for the economic independence of immigrants and refugees.

As WALD, we support women in the field of entrepreneurship within the framework of the “New City Economy Model”. We believe that changing the social status of women will also contribute to the development of society and form the basis for gender equality. The products that will be produced and sold in our "Sultan Women's Initiative Production and Operation Cooperative", which we have established with the support of Sultangazi Municipality, will be prepared by Turkish and Syrian entrepreneur women. The main goal of the project will be to increase the impact of disadvantaged women in the labor market and to provide opportunities for women to socialize and contribute to their home economy.

In order for the food products planned to be produced in Sultan Women's Initiative Production and Operation Cooperative to comply with the "Turkish Food Codex Standards Regulation", nutritional value analysis, shelf life analysis, microbiological and chemical analysis processes have been initiated on the basis of each product. As a result of these analyzes, our products are hygienic, organic They will be produced without additives and in accordance with the Turkish Food Codex Standards, taking into account the rules of Hygiene and Sanitation.
