Disaster Awareness Training

“Disaster Awareness Training for Individuals and Families” was held on 24 March 2021 in cooperation with AFAD, Bağcılar Municipality, and WALD. This program, which is aimed to contribute to strengthening social cohesion, was held in the conference hall of Bağcılar Municipality with the participation of 40 refugees and local people living in Bağcılar district. Bağcılar Municipality Women's Family Council members and 5 refugee women, whose membership processes continue, also participated in the training, which also contributed to increasing social cohesion.

With the training, participants were informed about pre and post-disaster preparations. Experts emphasized the importance of preparing emergency family plans. Emergency family plans to be prepared were exemplified in the training. In the last phase of the training, important contact numbers that need to be reached in case of an emergency were shared with the participants.
