Common Psychological Disorders After the Pandemic

In order to develop awareness by identifying the psychological conditions as well as the physiological effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, a psychosocial support workshop event titled "Common Psychological Disorders After Pandemic" was held on 5 May 2021 with the participation of 22 beneficiaries.

The meeting started with the brief on the Social Protection Project by Can Yılmaz, the WALD Team Leader, and the introduction of the staff who took part in the Social Protection Desks.

The meeting continued with the presentation titled "Common Psychological Disorders After the Pandemic" introduced by psychologist Hicret Ardıç and interpreter Haşim Hicazi. Following this, participants discussed the concepts such as a pandemic, social deterioration, cognitive distortions, adaptation, stress, and methods of coping with stress, anxiety, and so on. After the presentation, the beneficiaries who had the COVID-19 took the floor and shared their experiences. Addressing the questions of the participants, psychologist Hicret Ardıç underlined the importance of reliable information, not obsessively following all kinds of social media and news content related to the pandemic, and doing regular exercises.

Participants thanked the trainers and further recommend disucss the following concepts in the next meetings; "communication within the family", "child education and children's rights"
