Sabri DERELİ

Sabri Dereli is a graduate of Higher Islamic Institute. He started his career in Istanbul Muftiate in 1969. He was transferred to District Directorate of Foundations in 1974, and there he worked as Higher Education Student Dormitory Manager and Real Estate and Revenues Assistant Manager. After resigning from office in 1981, he was appointed the Manager of Ensar Foundation. He started working in the publication sector in 1983. After working in publication for 12 years, he returned to office when he was appointed the Manager of Florya Social and Tourism Facilities of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) in 1994. Between 1995-2001 he worked as the Editor in Chief for IMM. After the establishment of the Department of Editing and Decisions in IMM in 2001, Dereli became the first Head of Department of Editing and Decisions. He was appointed to Department of Research Planning and Coordination in 2002, and to Department of Control in 2003.

After being appointed Assistant Secretary General for administrative affairs in December 2008, Sabri Dereli started working as the General Manager of IMM Culture Inc. as of 2011. Dereli, who is also one of the co-founders of Ensar Foundation, Basın Yayın Birliği (Association of Media and Press) and Türkiye Gönüllü Kültür Teşekkülleri Vakfı (Association of Voluntary Culture Organisations of Turkey), has been a member of the Board of Trustees of WALD since 2013.
