Esq. Dr. Mustafa ÜNAL

He was accepted to Higher Islamic Institute in 1966. He got accepted into Faculty of Law at Istanbul University in 1967, thereby starting his study of Law, and graduated from both schools in 1971. He completed his doctorate studies at Freie Universität Berlin in the Faculty of Law in 1977, and worked as a faculty member at Bursa Academy of Economics (which was renamed as Uludağ University after the Council of Higher Education) between 1978-1984. After leaving his position at the university, he worked at senior executive positions first in Bursa Robert Bosch Inc., and then until 1991 in Mercedes-Benz Türk Inc. 

Since May 1991, he has been working at the law firm, which he turned into a partnership in 2005 as a lawyer and legal advisor and at the same time he has been working as a faculty member at the Faculty of Law at Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus European University of Lefke since 2012. He took part in the establishment of Justice and Development Party (AKP), which was founded on 14 August 2001, and between 2001 and 2012, he served as AKP a member and deputy chairman of the Central Disciplinary Board, and as a deputy-chairman of the AKP Political Virtue and Ethics Board.

He held positions in the board of directors of Ziraat Bank and Halkbank in 2003 and 2004; in Yapı Kredi Bank between April 2004 and September 2005, and was a member of the supervisory board of Ziraat Bank International AG, established in Germany. He entered the Turkish Grand National Assembly as AKP Karabük Member of the Parliament after the general elections of 2007. During his position as an MP, he served as a member of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe for 2 years, as a member of the Turkish delegation for the Council of Europe for 4 years, and as a member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Constitutional Committee for 2 years. Ünal also served as the Chairman of Turkish-German Parliamentary Friendship Group between 2007-2011.

Ünal served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of WALD between 2015-2020, and has been working as a deputy chairman of the Board of Trustees as of 2020.
