Master Architect Mehmet ÇEVİK

Having completed his undergraduate studies in the Department of Civil Engineering of Academy of Architecture and Engineering at Ankara Devlet University (Gazi University) in 1980, Çevik completed his master's in the Urban Transformation Programme at Okan University with the thesis titled "Strategy for Urban Transformation Theorem in Turkey". Çevik's doctorate studies in the same field is ongoing.

Starting his professional life in 1980, Çevik worked in certified bureaus, administration, engineering and contracting between 1980-1999. Serving as a member and Technical Vice President of the Beyoğlu Municipality District Council between 1999-2006, Mehmet Çevik was also a member of Istanbul District 1 for the Protection of Cultural and Natural Heritage as well as serving as the Chairman of the Zoning Committee in the same period. Between 2006-2011, Çevik worked in executive positions in the private sector and continued his contracting business, and worked as a General Manager at ISPARK, a body of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, between 2011-2015. He was appointed as the İGDAŞ General Manager as of 05 September 2015. 

Holding positions in several non-governmental organisations such as Founding President of Mimar Sinan Foundation, Founding Chairman of the Association of Car Park Businesses, a member of the Board of Trustees of Archers' Foundation, congress member of Fenerbahçe and Kasımpaşa Sports Clubs, Çelik has been serving as a member of the WALD Board of Trustees since 2019.
